About Us

Kidz Kits was born out of a compassion for kids taken from their homes due to neglect or abuse.  Often these children are placed into foster care with nothing but the clothes on their backs.  While the foster families will provide for their long term needs, we try to help children in that first 24 hours, the time when a child is removed from his or her home and placed with a foster family.  The foster placement process is difficult and can leave a child in transition without needed clothes and supplies.   

In each backpack we provide a blanket, pajamas, age appropriate toys and activity books, as well as personal hygiene products.  By providing them with a few of life's basic necessities and something that they can call their own, we hope to soften the transition and show them  love when they need it most. 

We are currently an all volunteer organization that works with a number of churches, retirement communities, and other socially minded groups to resource the items for the backpacks.  We provide backpacks for children in four different age groups;

¨  Crawler Kidz (0 to 18 months)

¨  Walker Kidz (18 months to 3 years)

¨  Cruiser Kidz (4 to 10 years)

¨  Dancer Kidz (11+ years)
